Responsibilities
1. Technology Review Board (TRB) Leadership
- Develop and refine the TRB framework to align with Supply Ontario’s initiatives, supporting projects, and ensuring proper due diligence.
- Lead the TRB committee alongside other members to ensure projects align with the agency’s strategic goals.
- Provide project approvals and collaborate with project teams and sponsors on governance/architecture requirements.
- Author architectural documentation to assist project teams in assessing architecture and improving their processes.
- Inform stakeholders about issues and recommendations related to current technical solutions.
- Exhibit expertise in Cloud, PaaS, and SaaS-based architecture, and adapt new technologies to address set problems.
- Ensure compliance with security and quality requirements.
- Align project blueprints and technical designs with business strategies and objectives.
2. Architectural Leadership
- Own the overall technology and architecture blueprint for Supply Ontario, from solutioning to delivery.
- Collaborate with Enterprise Technology, Digital, and Data teams to develop technology strategies and roadmaps.
- Analyze complex business requirements and generate technical specifications or redesign applications.
- Conduct due diligence on solutions to ensure compliance with architectural design.
- Utilize industry best practices to design, test, implement, and support solutions.
- Create designs and reference architectures.
- Provide architecture leadership and technical expertise to project teams.
- Work with vendors to assess their products and understand their delivery models.
3. IT Governance Support
- Refine IT Governance Framework and Processes.
- Develop architecture templates, including EA SOW, EA Decision Matrix, and Enterprise Architecture Documentation.
- Track and develop performance metrics to support the continuous improvement of architecture governance.
- Reduce technical debt and optimize standards and practices.
- Contribute to the development of architecture governance structures and methodologies.
- Implement reusable assets and standards.
- Ensure the correct application of technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices across projects.
- Resolve significant architectural issues and address complex aspects of projects.
4. Stakeholder Management and Communication
- Manage stakeholders and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Present to the IT Governance Committee and Project Steering, collaborating with IT leadership on priority initiatives.
- Act as a bridge between technical and business teams during solution planning, development, and deployment.
- Represent the technical team in senior leadership meetings and communicate technical strategies to business and IT executives.
- Collaborate with the architecture team on project architectures being developed or adopted by Supply Ontario.
- Provide coaching, mentoring, and support to project teams during delivery phases across ecosystems and platforms.
- Present to larger audiences using reporting, dashboards, and educational sessions.
- Build trusted relationships with stakeholders, educating them on the benefits of proper architecture.
- Understand business and organizational strategy.

Technical Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Mathematics, Economics, or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years in the IT industry, with at least 5 years in a technical architect role, specializing in service and hosting solutions like cloud IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS.
- Vendor Management: Experience managing SaaS vendors and ensuring compliance with EA technology and security standards.
- Integration Practices: Knowledge of integration methods, including brokers, APIs, web services, JSON, and XML.
- Commercial Software: Experience with CRM and ERP systems.
- Microsoft Solutions: Experience in architecting and designing technical solutions for Microsoft-centric platforms (Azure IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Certifications: Microsoft, MS Azure, TOGAF, AWS, Pivotal, CISSP, Zachman, ITIL, Cisco, (ISC)2, CEH, SAFe, PMI, SAP, etc.
- Security Protocols: Familiarity with claims-based authentication (SAML/OAuth/OIDC), MFA, JIT, RBAC, Ping, etc.
- Disaster Recovery: Experience in architecting mission-critical components with DR capabilities.
- Programming/Scripting: Proficiency in languages like JavaScript, PowerShell, Bash, SQL, .NET, Java, Python, PHP, Ruby, PERL, C++, etc. .NET and related Microsoft technologies are preferred.
Must Haves:
· 10+ years’ overall IT industry experience, with 5+ years in a technical architect role using service and hosting solutions such as private/public cloud IaaS, PaaS and SaaS platforms
· 3+ years’ experience with managing SaaS Vendors in ensuring compliance to EA technology and security standards
· Experience dsigning, developing, and implementing a Technology Review Board (TRB)
· Experience designing, developing, and owning the overall technology and architecture blueprint
