Environment Setup Engineer
Dawn InfoTek Inc is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Environment Setup Engineer to join our Digital Banking team. This role focuses on building, configuring, and maintaining development, QA, and UAT environments for our online and mobile banking applications. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in WebSphere, OpenShift, Java-based application servers, UI components, backend services, and automation using Ansible.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provision and maintain application environments across WebSphere, OpenShift, and cloud/on-prem platforms.
- Deploy and configure Java-based web and backend applications, including RESTful APIs and service layers.
- Set up UI components and integrate with backend services in both web and mobile contexts.
- Automate environment setup and configuration management using Ansible.
- Collaborate with development, QA, security, and DevOps teams to ensure environment consistency and readiness.
- Troubleshoot environment-related issues (middleware, connectivity, services, deployment errors).
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for environment provisioning and application deployment.
- Perform middleware patching, JVM tuning, and configuration for WebSphere and OpenShift environments.
- Maintain service dependencies, such as databases, messaging systems, and APIs.
- Ensure environment compliance with security and audit requirements.
- Document environment setup processes, configurations, and recovery procedures.
- Required Skills and Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in environment setup and middleware administration.
- Strong expertise in IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS).
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift or Kubernetes container platforms.
- Proficient in Java, application servers, and microservice deployment.
- Familiarity with UI technologies (e.g., Angular, React, or JSP) and their deployment processes.
- Strong automation skills using Ansible (playbooks, roles, inventory, etc.).
- Good understanding of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, and Nexus.
- Knowledge of enterprise service architecture, SOAP/RESTful services, and integration practices.
- Experience in banking or financial services is a strong asset.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration or equivalent.
- IBM Certified WebSphere Administrator.
- Experience with container orchestration, Helm charts, and YAML.
- Familiarity with security tools and procedures (SSL, certificate management, OAuth, etc.).
- Experience with monitoring/logging tools such as Splunk, Prometheus, or ELK stack.
